Here is a little bit about me and why I can help you grow your tourism business. 

I started out in tourism while I was at university. I had completed a gap year in Canada and on my return decided political science wasn't for me and I wanted to spend my life travelling. So in order to get some money for travel I took a job as a tour guide at Kings Coaches in Newcastle. We did mostly concerts, theatre shows and events in Sydney. 

After a year at university I put my degree on hold and studied Travel and Tourism at TAFE NSW and I ended up taking a position at Creative Holidays, The Travel Corporation company in Bondi Junction, Sydney. This was the real world of travel with airline tickets, packages, accommodation, experiences and I loved it.  

From there I worked front desk at Joondalup Resort, Perth WA before moving into events and finally sales and marketing. This was an exceptional experience as we only had a small team that delivered the 5 star experience so I learnt a lot very quickly. My General Manager was tough but fair and also shared so much of his 30 + years of knowledge with me. 

My next step was into the big wide corporate world of Accor in the National Sales Office in Perth where our team were responsible for 40 of the company’s key national accounts. In addition, our team was responsible for the sales and marketing of 14 hotels across WA and NT. 

After 3 years, I was promoted to the Business Development for Queensland based in Brisbane and responsible for the sales and marketing of 6 regional Queensland hotels as well. Accor is a beast of a business and I absorbed so much information, so much knowledge and so many skills in the years I was there, the experience held me in good stead for my future roles.

After Accor I worked for The Star Entertainment Group, Rendezvous Hotels and Resorts, Smartvisit Solutions, and iVenture Card. In 2016 managing iVenture Card Australian, the business secured two tour desks in Surfers Paradise which I ran and grew the business into a very successful chain of stores across the Gold Coast. The business sold tours and attraction tickets as well as iVenture Cards. I ran both businesses simultaneously with significant success.

As a result of that success, an opportunity came along for me to become an owner of Aquaduck Gold Coast run the business as the Managing Director and General Manager.  

In just 10 months running Aquaduck, I grew the then 22 year old business by 36.1% in sales. I moved the direct sales online and increased it by 47% of all sales. From a marketing perspective I rebranded the business, developed the brand story and redesigned the experience to one of the Gold Coast’s must do tours and increased net profit per passenger by 200%.

Then I did the same thing two more times with Southern Cross Tours and the Aquaduck Sunshine Coast start up. 

Nowadays I consult to a range of tourism operators from management rights to multi brand marine experiences. I love tourism, I study tourism and I know so many ways to help you transform your tourism business into a thriving and sustainably profitable enterprise.
